DKF is now by Watson: what changes for you, and what does not

A new name in an old story

Picture him for a moment. Sherlock Holmes, hunched over his files in a cloud of pipe smoke, and behind him: Watson. Not the loudest voice in the room, but the trusted right hand. Watson analyses alongside him, adds nuance, provides perspective. And above all, he is there when it matters.

From 26 May 2026, that name appears on our building. We become by Watson.

Why now, and why in English

We could have come up with 75 reasons to wait. We chose one to press ahead: this is the right moment.

In 2026, we celebrate our 75th anniversary. A fitting moment to look back with pride and to look ahead with confidence. At the end of 2025, three partners passed the torch to a trusted team of five partners. Meanwhile, our sector is changing at breakneck speed. Digitalisation, AI, Peppol (Pan-European Public Procurement On-Line) and increasingly complex legislation rewrite what an accountant does every few years. We have long done more than bookkeeping alone, and our name should finally reflect that.

Why English? Not for the sake of English itself, but because ‘Watson’ carries a story with it, and that story is universally recognisable. An added benefit: ‘Watson’ rolls off the tongue more easily than ‘DKF Fiduciaire’. We will happily admit it.

What changes for you as a client?

In short: nothing, except the name.

Your dedicated contact remains the same. Your file manager remains the same. The way we look after your file remains the same. Our offices in Kortrijk, Waregem, Tielt and Nazareth remain the same.

Practically, little changes. You can still reach us on the same telephone numbers. Our email addresses change with the new name: from 26 May onwards, you replace @dkf.be with @bywatson.be. You can therefore reach your dedicated contact at firstname.lastname@bywatson.be. Emails sent to your old address will be automatically forwarded for the time being.

Worth knowing: our offering is broader than accounting alone. Beyond the numbers, we also support you with tax, legal and HR questions, and with family wealth planning. Under by Watson, each of these domains will soon have its own, recognisable name, such as ‘accountancy by Watson’ and ‘consultancy by Watson’.

What does not change

Our independence. In a sector where consolidation is the norm and large groups are becoming ever more dominant, we very deliberately choose not to merge into a larger whole. The name change has reinforced that conviction rather than altered it.

Our values. We remain genuinely committed to the entrepreneurs we support. We continue to choose long-term quality over quick fixes. We remain modest about what we do not know, and clear about what we do see.

Our role. by Watson is not a detective agency. We are the figure who thinks alongside the detective, who reads the numbers with you and who is there when it matters. On that score, we have 75 years of practice behind us.

We are the same people. Only with a more recognisable name.
